Not Tonight, I Have a Headache

Men, if you’re wearing stuff “strong enough for a man but made for a woman,” think again. Women are 70% more likely to suffer from migraines, and much more likely to be allergic to fragrances and nickel (aerosols). So if you’re tired of hearing, “Not tonight, I have a headache,” just shower more and give up the toxins.

Five Fast Facts

  • Eighty to ninety percent of fragrances are toxic.

  • Metal leaches into products contained in cans.

  • If a fragrance is contained in metal, the combination can be disabling to people allergic to fragrances and nickel because these airborne particles are absorbed by the non-wearer, as well as the wearer. (Hard to grasp, think of second-hand cigarette smoke.)

  • Since 1990, chemical sensitivity is rising faster than anything else causing Americans to become disable.

  • Allergic reactions to fragrances often hit your body at full strength three to five days later; you may not have any immediate reaction. So, may people allergic to fragrances, don’t even know it. If you suffer from migraines: Go to an allergist and get tested to see if you are allergic to fragrances, nickel, and potassium dichromate. These are the three toxins that most people are allergic to, and you can avoid them and be much healthier and happier and live a more productive life.

Two Quick Quips

  • If we eliminated cans of toxins, we could save some tax money.

  • Business owners, if you want a healthier, more productive workforce, provide a fragrance-free and aerosol-free work place. (You might even get a break on the cost of health insurance.)

About Faye Lynn

Barefoot and Breathless is a contemporary romance, chick-lit, women's fiction novel about a single mother looking for love, dealing with her son's growing independence, overcoming a past abusive relationship, trying to stay true to her morals, and teaching in a public at-risk school. It's a light, fun read with a writing style of Rachel Gibson meets Janet Evanovich. Like the heroine in Barefoot and Breathless, I'm a teacher, yogi, and single mother. I hope you enjoy reading my posts, and I look forward to reading your comments. Carpe Diem, Faye Lynn
